The company CZECH PRECISION FORGE a.s. needed to verify the effect of increased copper content in stainless steel on the blade forging technology. Based on the laboratory tests of the material formability, a virtual model of forging technology was compiled and the influence of various technological parameters on the forging process and the occurrence of possible defects was verified using computer simulation.

The output of the project was the recommended technological procedure for blades forging at the client’s workplace. Other outputs, such as the nature of the microstructure, hardness or results of technological and mechanical tests, serve to expand the material database of COMTES FHT for other similar projects.
